D:SOL MMXVI

Founded by creative director Dennis Werner, D:SOL developed from years spent between Berlin and the island of Mallorca. Shaped by local botanicals, light and atmospheric contrast, the house creates contemporary niche perfumes exploring the deeper atmosphere of the Mediterranean. After three and a half years of development, the first three Eau de Parfums were launched in September 2020.

D:SOL — sometimes written as DSOL or without the colon and pronounced “De-sol” — refers to the same fragrance house. The brand operates under the registered trademark D:SOL MMXVI.

THE MEDITERRANEAN BENEATH THE SURFACE

The vision of D:SOL connects sunlight with human experience. Days spent outdoors, the warmth of Mediterranean air, shared tables and the slow descent of evening light shape the sensibility behind the fragrances. Mediterranean landscapes and botanicals translate this atmosphere into scent — bringing together material, light and emotion.

Mediterranean botanicals — from citrus oils and aromatic herbs to woods, resins and balsams — form the olfactory foundation of the compositions. Light and warmth give them clarity, depth and movement, carried by the duality of brightness and depth that defines every D:SOL composition. In this way, a sensory landscape emerges where material, light and human experience converge — a sunshine state of mind.

Artisanal Sophistication

The first collection required more than three years of development. Every step of the process was defined by patience and precision. D:SOL collaborates with independent perfumers, specialized manufacturers and artisans recognized internationally for their expertise.

BOTTLES/CAPS
The heavy hand-polished 75 ml bottles feature D:SOL’s golden metal hexagon — a symbol of the brand’s essence: Parfums with a sunshine state of mind. The distinctive Bakelite caps are crafted in Spain, combining traditional craftsmanship with precise finishing.

PACKAGING
D:SOL packaging and printed materials are produced in small batches by specialized printing houses in Germany. Carefully selected materials and a minimalist design language define the visual identity of the brand.

THE PERFUMERS
Marie Urban Le Febvre, Michael Nordstrand and Delphine Thierry collaborate with D:SOL as independent perfumers, each contributing their distinct creative signatures to the fragrances of the house.

Marie Urban Le Febvre Perfumer – D:SOL

Marie Urban Le Febvre is an independent perfumer who created the launch collection of three Eau de Parfums for D:SOL. Trained at ISIPCA in Paris, the world’s leading school for fragrance, cosmetics and flavor, she is deeply dedicated to the craft of traditional perfumery.

Michael Nordstrand

Michael Nordstrand is a perfumer, concept artist and modern alchemist. Trained in Grasse and at Givaudan, he approaches fragrance as a narrative composition — precise, clear and sensually layered. In 2025 he received the Art and Olfaction Award in Los Angeles in the Independent Perfume category.

Delphine Thierry

Delphine Thierry is a French perfumer known for her distinctive and artistic approach to fragrance creation. After graduating from ISIPCA in Paris, she began her career in Grasse and later established herself as an independent perfumer.

When it comes to ingredients, D:SOL collaborates with leading European fragrance manufacturers — including Accords & Parfums in Grasse, founded by Edmond Roudnitska, the Robertet Group, and Carbonnel in Spain. For D:SOL, integrity means clean formulations, responsible sourcing and working with the finest partners in the fragrance industry.

our Ethics

D:SOL fragrances are vegan and cruelty-free. The formulas are free from phthalates, parabens, sulfates, palm oil, pesticides and genetically modified organisms. Artificial colorants are deliberately avoided — what you see is the natural color of the composition itself. For D:SOL, sustainability is not a promise but a principle.
